5 Marketing Tasks You Should Outsource on Fiverr
Focus on what’s important, leave the gigs to the pros
In my previous article, 6 Must-Have Accounts When Starting a Blog, I advocated for the professional services posting site Fiverr.
I’ve hired professionals for both my personal blog as well as my day job working in customer success. Why? Simple. The results you’ll find on Fiverr are faster and higher quality than if I did it myself.
If you’re interested in saving time while giving your content a more professional look, then check out these five gigs that I’ve purchased on Fiverr.
Avatars
When I started writing on Medium, one of the first things I did was hire a Fiverr professional to create a personal avatar. A custom avatar is easier to recognize, helping me stand out from other authors.

You don’t have to stop with just the avatar. Consider getting an entire social media kit that includes banners and templates for recommended image sizes.
Icons & Illustrations
Icon libraries like FontAwesome and Google Material are great when designing interfaces and guaranteeing your icons will be recognized. But when you want to stand out or you can’t find the right icon, it’s time to look for custom work.

Look for gigs where the artist’s portfolio align with your industry or preferred style. These icons can be used for unique interface actions and presentations alike. In fact, having continuity between your UI and outreach material will improve ease of adoption as viewers are being reinforced with each appearance.
Presentation Slides
I frequently have to put together slides for webinars, customer meetings, and internal presentations. As much as we wish it was just about the content, vanilla presentation slides are the equivalent of showing up in your pajamas.

Look for gigs that include a variety of different slide templates. Even if your presentation doesn’t need a graph slide, include one in the request so you have a cohesive template moving forward.
Beautified Documents
Microsoft Word can be fickle, but even if you’re a wizard in MS Word, it’s time-consuming to put together documents that have a clean professional look or a strong eye-catching pop.

Gigs to dress up documents can be turned around in 24 hours and cost you the equivalent of the lunch you’ll order because you have to work on styling a plain document.
Explainer Videos
In a world of email and text, you need to tap into the audio/visual medium to get your point across in a way that won’t lose the audience. Most of us don’t have the skillset to create custom animations or whiteboard explainers, so we know it’s a matter of outsourcing.
That being said, there’s no need to spend thousands on a standalone freelancer.
You’ll end up with a good quality video, and the best part is most of the professionals on Fiverr will help you with a script and are very receptive to revisions.
With these five gigs, I’ve saved time and ended up with a higher quality product, all for a modest price. The first four gigs were less than $30 each. The explainer video was around $500, but that’s a fraction of what we anticipated and were quoted elsewhere.
